Rooted near the estuary of Leigh on Sea, Jaime Breward’s fine art practice centres on tonal realism, expressed through atmospheric oil paintings shaped by shifting light and the quiet rhythms of coastal life. Her work reflects the interplay of memory, emotion and place, drawing inspiration from familiar shorelines and landscapes encountered on her travels.

A graduate of the University of Essex with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Jaime is recognised for her evocative treatment of natural light.

Her style blends realism with nostalgic undertones, often incorporating sepia and copper tones, retro photographic textures and gilded accents. Light is a central character in her compositions, shifting mood and meaning across the canvas.

Whether painting serene seascapes or intimate portraits, Jaime’s work invites viewers into a space of reflection and calm.

Jaime Breward's landscape paintings have been exhibited in London and across Essex, including recognition by the British Art Prize. She is an active member of the Leigh Art Trail and Southend Art Club, contributing regularly to regional exhibitions and community-led showcases.

In 2024, Jaime’s work was selected as a finalist in the prestigious British Art Prize, earning a place in the exhibition at London’s gallery@oxo. Her inclusion among the top 50 artists from thousands of entries highlights the emotional depth and technical skill that define her practice.
